Makena took her very first dance class at Temecula Dance Company at the age of 4. She continued her dance journey through mediums of musical theatre performances and training at the age of 10, as well as volunteering as leadership roles for musical theatre dance camps. She began assisting in classes her junior year of high school, and being a one-on-one aid for special needs students. Since then, she has discovered not only a love of teaching, but a fulfillment in watching her students grow as humans and dancers. She has choreographed a full length musical at the age of 18, and began teaching her own dance classes at the age of 20. She is extremely passionate about creating a structured and positive learning environment for all students.
