Ashley LeStrange
Ashley was born and raised in sunny San Diego where she started dancing at the age of two. Growing up, she had a passion for tap and loved how creative she could be with tap choreography, echoing different beats and rhythms. She danced competitively at studios throughout San Diego County for eleven years, and was a member of the first Future Shock Dance Troupe in San Diego. In high school, she was given the opportunity to go back to her elementary school and teach cheer and dance, which sparked a passion for teaching. She loved being able to enrich children’s lives with the joy of dance, and decided then and there she was going to pursue a career in teaching, making sure to incorporate dance into her teachings whenever possible. She kept her love of tap alive during college by teaching tap to all ages at a local studio, as she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Liberal Studies, Blended Teacher Education with a Specialization in Physical Education from San Diego State University. She continued on to earn her California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Education from University of Phoenix. Shortly after graduation, Ashley taught fourth grade in Poway, California, where she incorporated dance and movement into everyday lessons. She was then given a leadership opportunity at a virtual charter school where she is now the K-8 Coordinator and advises the DanceClub. Once she began teaching from home, she knew it was time to go back to teaching dance at a local dance studio. Ashley taught tap and hip hop at studios throughout San Diego County for the first four years of her online teaching career, and recently moved to Temecula, where she discovered the amazing Temecula Dance Company. Ashley is so excited to be a part of Temecula Dance Company and watch her students impress her by their amazing talents!
