George Ortiz

George Ortiz came out of the womb dancing, but began his official dance and performing arts training in musical theater and as a company member with the 24/7 Dance Company on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. As soon as he graduated from Kalaheo High School, he moved to Hollywood, California with a scholarship to The Edge Performing Arts Center at the age of 17. Immediately after completing his term at the Edge he was signed with Dorothy Day Otis, a leading agency, representing him for Dance, Commercial and Theatrical. He quickly began to work with L.A.'s top choreographers, directors and actors, assisting Jaime King, the director of Madonna's world tours, and Robin Antin, the creator of The Pussycat Dolls. George has worked on many films such as The Sweetest Thing, with Cameron Diaz, Christina Applegate and Selma Blair, Three To Tango as Matthew Perry's body double and lead dancer in the opening credits, starred in the film Women of the Night directed by Zalman King, Flintstones Viva Rock Vegas as a gangster and dancer to name a few. He has traveled the world on tours with Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Shayanne. George can also be seen dancing and acting on the television shows Friends, Six Feet Under, The Drew Carrey Show, The Andy Dick Show, Jack and Jill, Fame L.A. and had a reoccurring role on The Young and the Restless. As far as MTV music videos, George choreographed for Matchbox 20's "The Mean Season" and for Bare Naked Ladies "Pinch Me" and "One Week" as well as danced for Michael Jackson, Offspring, Smashmouth, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin...nine in total. His most current choreographic attention has been focused on the award winning Act One Productions, a company producing musicals, recently closing Oklahoma!, Footloose which he has been nominated for an I.T.L. award recognizing his excellence in choreography, Rent, The Spelling Bee, 13, the Wedding Singer, Spring Awakening, and All Shook Up. George also commits his gifts and talents to teaching classes from L.A. to San Diego and everywhere in between. His greatest passion is heading his dance ministry at New Covenant Fellowship where he danced the role of Jesus Christ in The Passion of the Christ, serving and giving back to the Lord, what the Lord gave to him. His dream is to inspire others to pursue their dreams and to help establish The Kingdom of Heaven and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
