Dana Nelson

Dana Nelson has been dancing since the age of six. She began her training with Teresa Wells, formerly of Kansas City Ballet, and has trained with the California, San Diego and Boston Ballets. She began dancing professionally at the age of 14, and has performed soloist and principle roles with California Ballet, Mir·bil Ballet Company, San Diego Ballet, Spindle City Ballet, Pax Fiat, and Ballet Theatre of Boston. Some of her performances include; Nutcracker, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Petroushka, Dracula, Pas de Quatre, Les Sylphides, Coppelia, Paquita, Swan Lake, and many more. Dana has training in Pilates, Dance Medicine, Dance Kinesiology, Conditioning for Dancers, and Massage Therapy. She has taught ballet for over 20 years, and has taught for California Ballet, San Diego Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Boston and Boston Ballet. She is very excited to be a part of TDC's annual Nutcracker production. In addition to TDC, Dana currently teaches for Ballet Society and other ballet studios and she also travels throughout California and Massachusetts teaching Summer Intensive programs. She loves animals, reading classical music and playing the piano.
